Reaction Paper 8

Going back and looking at my earlier excercises I can see how the photographs didn't look very good. I believe at the time I thought they were good photos. I didn't know anything about photoshop or about taking good quality photos. I guess I thought if it wasn't blurry it was good enough. Now I will really be quite the critic when seeing photographs because after looking at my photographs of landscape I can see the difference. For example, the photo of rocks by the lake looks a lot better than my photo of hands. I can see I have made progress. I used techniques I learned in this course to make better photos. I know I still have a lot to learn, but have some skills now to continue the learning process by more practice. I also loved learning about the many photographers. It really helped to open my mind on how photography is an art. My favorite is Duane Lage. I really like his photographs of inanimate objects. I will continue to learn about still photography. I want to use my own art to put up on my walls instead of going out and buying it. I am excited about continuing with everything I have learned. Photography is definitely Art.

  1. I had the same thought at you before this course, as long as it wasn't blurry it was good enough. Well that thought has changed for me personally also. Good work!

  2. Agreed. Photography definatly opens other doors and though processes of how to go about of taking a picture.
