Reaction Paper 5

Anthony Spencer
After researching many different photographers, I decided on Anthony Spencer. I chose him because his work stood out the most to me. I liked him because while looking through his photographs, I really got a sense of the feeling the artist had while at that location. And through his pictures the viewer can really get a great idea of what that specific place was like. Anthony seemed to somehow capture the mood of the landscape and portray that in his photographs. In most of his photographs there seems to be a very calm and relaxing tone to them. He really knows how to capture the beauty of the landscape. Some of his pictures you might not even normally notice in everyday situations. But by the way he photographs landscapes; you would not be able to miss it. What I like most about his work is that he puts a very different artistic twist on his photographs. It’s almost an abstract look on the landscape. He uses colors that are very vibrant and catches the viewer eye. That is how I believe his work relates to mine and what I am doing for my project. When composing a photograph of mine, I try to put a different artistic look to it. I try capturing images in such a way that is different and would not normally be looked at in that way. While composing my photographs, I try to add more of an artistic look to it or an almost unnatural look. I like pictures that are very different and interesting and Anthony Spencer does that very well. I find his work inspirational and I differently look up to his work and hope I can take his creative ideas and use them to create something of my own.
