Hey guys, I hope that you enjoy my pictures, as much as I enjoyed taking them and editing them! All of these pictures I took out at Robins Island.
In the first picture that I edited, it is Miranda drawing in the sand. Being at the lake and sitting on the beach listening to the calm current of the water is something that we do when we want to get out and talk. The heart represents her love and passion for the beach and summer which is her favorite season! I used the new smart took and make the picture black and white, and then used the color switch, coloring the heart red because red stands for compassion and hearts are red! I also love black and white, so that was another reason I have done that. It also accented her shadow. I also changed the saturation and the hue, as well as the sharpness of the picture. In the filter section I used the dark strokes one. Touched it off with an I love you, in a new layer, and changed the opacity of it so it blends in with the shade of the red for the heart.
The next picture of Miranda, I took a close up profile of her smiling, and then I changed it to black and white, changed the hue and saturation, to get the lime green tint of the picture, which is her favorite color. She is always smiling and this captured her real smile! I brightened the eyes and darkened them. If you look of to the right side of the picture, in a new layer I opened a new photo graph, and then I used the lasso tool and cropped out another side profile picture of her laughing. In a new layer I put it in there, and changed the opacity, I also used the lasso tool again and the clone stamping took to make the edges not so define and so it wasn’t overlapping her other picture. Sharpening the picture also brought out the defined edges a little more.
The next picture that I edited was one of her walking on the shore line with her back facing to me. My motive for taking this picture is that, Miranda being one of my best friends we have a lot of hear t to heart talks. We recently have had a huge talk about letting go of things in the past, and moving on to the future. You can’t move on if your stuck in the past. So her not looking back is representing her letting go of something that has influenced her in life. I brightened up the background and changed the saturation on the picture as well as the contrast.
The next picture that I edited, I kept it very simple. It is a profile picture of Miranda laughing. I absolutely love this picture and think that it really captures her personality. She is always so upbeat and joking and laughing. The squinting eyes and the really open smile really showing that she is genuinely having a fun time. I changed it to black and white using the command CTRL+J, and then used the contrast, as well as sharpened it a little bit to get her freckles to pop out more.
The last picture that I edited of Miranda, is a more serious side of her. Like we have discussed in class before eyes say everything, and I feel that her eye language as well as the expression on her face match and send a very serious message, that she is determined and that she is confident because she is looking directly in to the camera. I thought that it was kind of cool that her eyes are two different colors which you might notice if you look close her eyes, when I made it black and white and used the eraser tool to bring out her real color, then I brightened it and changed the contrast to make them pop more. I also changed the sharpness of the pictures.
Now for myself portraits, I used a tripod and a self timer to create these pictures. The first one I set up was me sitting on a little sand dune laying out, laughing looking out to the water. I really had fun with this picture, using the new smart tool brush, I changed the background to a sunset and brought out the greenery in it, I gave myself a tan and changed the contrast on it to make my hair and body a little darker. I also changed the shadow and the saturation on the picture so the tones of my shirt and the grasses matched the tones of the sky, Not to add the yellow flower adds a little touch to the picture.
The next picture is one that I had the camera in my hand and used kind of an angle shot. You can’t see my face or my eyes, but the main subject in the picture is the yellow flower that I am smelling. I used the smart tool and made it black and white, changed the contrast and also darkened the shadows in the picture. I absolutely love nature and I love to be outside. As I have stated before I love black and white and white pictures, and bringing out the yellow makes the picture more interesting. I also blurred the edges giving the picture a different effect.
I also love the lake, and weird angles, also how the subject matter is not completely centered. It isn’t a profile of my face, but of the back of my head looking out into the water, also I am holding a flower, which is another thing that I love. I love to be at the lake and sit there and look at the water, as well as listen to it. I used the dark strokes filter to make it appear as a painting type, and I changed the levels.
The fourth one that I edited, was when I was laying on the sand and the I had the camera at ground level with me. I like the angle in this picture because I am looking back at the camera with my head crocked and my eyes are looking straight into the camera. I changed it to black and white and changed the contrast and lightened the shadows. It was really simple, but I love black and white pictures with the contrast and the saturation.
The last one that I edited was at the same level as when I was laying on my back but this time I was on my stomach, and it is kind of a side view where I am smiling at the camera. I did a lasso inverse, and changed the filter, and then changed the saturation and hue to get the color change. The pink I represent for breast cancer awareness month if you look on my arm my arm band says (boobies) but it is for breast cancer awareness, I thought it was a neat little touch, because I know many survivors and people close to me that are suffering from breast cancer.
I loved your pictures contrasting the black and white with the color was great. I also love black and white photos but I never think about using color in them although my sister has done that I never thought too. Great Job!
