Reaction Paper 3

Photography is an art, it is something that people have an eye for. It is a special talent and it is not something that should be seen as "easy". I think that when the question comes up about what should be considered photography in a contest and what should not I think that the real picture taken should be considered photography and the edited one should not be.

When I read the article, I realized that when advertising, there is no way around not changing things. Companies want their product to look way better than anyone else's so that is why it will happen no matter what. But when it comes to a contest, there should be a talent in the art. There should for sure be a separate category for Photoshop changed pictures. Because it does take real talent to actually see something and capture it in the moment at the right angle and lighting. If there was Photoshop pictures up against not edited pictures, there would be no contest anymore because you can change a whole picture to however you want in Photoshop.

Photoshop is a great thing and it is really helpful in certain ways, it can also be a form of art. People can be really good at Photoshop and can see things very creatively. But when it comes to photography contests, there now needs to be categories because there is such a big difference in the way people can set up a picture.
