I like both of the photographers, but to me I definitely would have to say David Paul's photography is my favorite of the two. I think that David Paul's photgraphy is more realistic and you can see in every day life as for Ansel Adams his work is more vactaion and wonders of the world type of landscape. I believe that both have very unique and amazing photographs. Each photgrapher can capture so much in there pictures.
In Paul's photographs he has more of the abnormal pictures. I believe that it is things that we simply skip over just living day to day. He is able to capture a strange type of look to his pictures. For example, it is not uncommon to see a palm tree broken and hung over on a corner down south, however it is uncommon to take a picture of it and have it become art. I like his style a lot.
With Adam's photography it, in my mind, is more of the breath taking images. He uses the black and white photographs very well. I like his sense of not using color I believe this enhances the effect of the pictures. Also his pictures are more of the amazing seneic type of pictures. He uses the landscape that people usually go and take vacations to see. It is hard for most people to see that type of stuff on a day to day basis, unless they live by those places. My favorite of his, is the series of the ocean or sea looking down from a cliff. I think this one is truly breath taking, also I like how instead of just taking on photograph of it, it is a series which gives it a story type feel to the ocean or sea.
I also was partial to David's work but you should check out his other portfolio's that show more of the real and natural world. I agree that "Urban Forest" did have some pretty abnormal images but I still really enjoyed seeing them.
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you David's work is like you say something that you would see in everyday life and Adam's is what you would look to see on a vacation. However there are people that live in that type of landscape so I guess it would be everyday to them. My mom used to live in Denver and she said after awhile you take the breathtaking views of the mountains for granted.
