Reaction Paper 4
Adams and Bayles' photographs seem very different at first glance. Adam's photographs are very striking and beautiful. Bayles' seem very sad to me. His subject matter is obviously trees. Through his photographs I see how we take the beauty of trees for granted in our everyday life. Bayle is attracted to photographing trees because of his background as a logger. From reading how he explains the falling of a tree, I can feel the sadness he might of felt every time he heard a tree fall after being cut. Through his pictures he makes us think about the importance of conservation. Adam's photographs on the other had are part of a larger environmental movement. His beginning with photographs was personal poetry. Later his photographs served the interest of conservation. The purpose behind Adam's work was to further the course of art through books and other publications. Both of these photographers remind us how beautiful our landscape is and how important it is to take care of it. Through these photogrphers we can see how powerful a photograph can be.

I agree with you when you say these pictures remind us of how beautiful the landscape around us is and how we need to take care of it.
