These to artists have so many things in common, but when you look close at each picture you know their mind was ticking a different way. Ansel Adams to start was someone who liked taking pictures of a big scene. Things like mountains and water, he saw the big picture. The pictures he took were very soft and peaceful things in nature they were not something that would jump out at the eye. David Paul Bayles was a little different when he came to pictures of landscape. He took picture of things in nature that were not quite right. like the leaning palm tree, or the palm tree in the parking ramp. I really enjoyed his work and he saw things that maybe someone just driving past would not have seen. I think that he also really focused on trees and all the different kinds in different spots. The trees he photographed were normally not just standing straight up, they had an odd twist to them that made them unique and look good in his photographs.
Each of them make the images that they make because they love landscape. Some people just do not embrace the natural beauty that lies around them. Sometimes people forget that material things are not the only thing in the world that can make people happy. If you just look outdoors the earth has so much to offer and so much to look at that can be beautiful. I think that these two artist had an eye for that and really appreciated what was there and photographed what they found was the most beautiful to them.
I really enjoyed both of the artists, I think that the landscape on earth is amazing. The things that you see by just traveling a short distance are breathtaking, and just by looking at the stars at night you can take time to appreciate what there is to offer.
I agree where you say that one photographer took pictures of the big picture while one focused more on specific things.
