Reaction Paper 3

In my opinion, photography is artwork, I view photographers as artists. I think that if I were running a contest, I would feel compelled to let anything be submitted. I understand that there are some old-schoolers out there that think a photo should remain unchanged, but in today’s world of technology, I think if the artist took the time to create the photo then it should be allowed. Photoshop is a great tool and if you have it available to you then why not use it. I think people need to understand that as technology changes, they must adapt. Now, you could always have separate contests like they mention in the article and maybe that will make some people happy, but there will always be a question as to whether a photo might have been altered in the slightest way. This is a digital age and I think we should embrace everything that comes with it.
