Reaction 8

One of the first photos I took for project one, was of my son's football game. I am choosing to compare it to my fire photo from project 3. I think it is hard to compare them as they are of completely different subject matters. But, if I could change something about the boys, I would have adjusted the angle that I shot this photo at. I would have lined up with them a little more. As for the fire photo...I like it the way it is, and I don't think I would change it. I think it is a reflection of learning to take photos of what you like. I have learned more about myself, rather than more about photography. All the people we had to research and write about, have only confirmed what I already know. Every artist is different. What catches one person's eye is not what catches someone else's. It completely confirms my belief that art is a reflection of you, what you like, what is important to you. Art moves everyone differently. It causes some to take up a cause and work at making changes. For others, the goal was just to share what they produced. I found that I identified more with artists that captured nature and natural images. Though I think that composite images are cool and creative, it would not be something I would choose to create. I relate more to artists like Tony Newlon and Michael Snyder. But that is me. And if you knew me that would not surprise you. I am sure I will continue to take photos of my family. And I am positive I will continue to take photos of nature. One of my goals for taking this class was to take photos of our resort and use them to help promote it. I feel capable in doing this, as I understand that what draws you to a photo is emotion. What the photo feels like.
