Reaction Paper 8
Over this semester I have defiantly learned a lot about Photoshop as well as photography in general. When I first started this course, I basically knew nothing about either one of these things. I had no idea what Photoshop was and I could take basic pictures, but had no idea I had so much control over how the pictures turned out. While doing the first project I struggled with making selections and I did not really know how to change the picture to make it better. Now, the possibilities are endless for me. I now can take total control of my photographs and make them anything you can possibly imagine and more. I feel very comfortable in Photoshop and editing images. When looking back on my beginning work to my work I have recently done, I see a huge difference. I think it is very apparent that I have learned a lot throughout this semester. I think the reaction papers really contributed to my new abilities in Photoshop because it furthered my research as well as introduced me to new styles and different artists. My favorite photographer that we have looked at thus far had to be Jim Brandenberg. I really liked how different this work was. I thought it had more of an artistic twist to it and that is what I like. Some of his work was almost magical looking. I know I will use photography or even more I’ll use Photoshop after this class is over. I am going into the field of graphic design or something along those lines, so I will be using all the tools I learned from this class. And I always did see photography as an art form, I just never really knew how to do it. Now that I do it has become something that I like to do. It allows me to express my artistic side on a different level.
