Reaction Paper 6 by Amanda Knudsen
Melissa Ann Pinney's work is so real about what girls are going through when growing up. Her pctures are very in the moment, from the good times in a teenage girl's life to the bad times. My favorite picture of her's is the picture of a girl trying to figure out a puzzle in a dining room, from her 'girls ascending' picture album. I kinda took the picture as a metaphor about how the girl is trying to figure out the life stressers, such as like what she wants to do with her life and her future. It is as if she was trying to piece her life together to look at who she is and what she's gonna be. I just went through the stressfull years of high school, so i can understand the pictures and thier deeper meanings. I know how that insecurity and unsureness feels like first-handedly.

I think a lot of pictures have to deal with metaphors. Perhaps our metaphors come from what we see from past experiences like you listed yourself. I like that you used a past reference to relate to this. You make keen points.
