I went online and I searched farming landscape photographers hoping I would find a photographer that took similar pictures as to what I did. I found a photographer and his name is Jon Olsen. He is from New England and chose to come to the United States to take some pictures. He went to Hartford, Vermont. I chose to write about Jon Olsen because we have something on common. The website I was brought to about him gave me an article about him and some of his pictures. It says in the article that the farm area where he was at was his favorite place to be. I have that in common with him. Where I took my landscape picture was out in the country by my farm which is my favorite place to be, so we have that in common. Jon really shows how much he likes being in the country. The article said he just stopped on a country gravel road with his truck and got out and took pictures. That is basically what I did except some of my pictures were taking in my front yard. I did drive down the road a little bit to get some different views. The photographs that Olsen takes in the winter really help people who don’t like winter that much see the beauty and peacefulness that winter snow can bring. He says, “I've had other people tell me they hate winter but love my images. It allows them to experience a certain quiet and peacefulness that comes with winter.” In the article a girl says how his image’s simplicity and beauty stunned her and her husband and was thankful that this photographer brought such beauty to their world. Olsen’s images on landscape can really show people who look past landscape how beautiful it really is. I think my pictures that I took do the same thing. When I took the pictures, it made me really look at what I see everyday. When I drive past everything I don’t really think that the landscape that is around me is that interesting or beautiful, but when I took the pictures, I realized that there is beauty to my home in the country.
