Reaction Paper 7

Kevin Michael Snynder is a well developed landscape photographer, who was born and raised in Iowa, but now calls Isanti, Minnesota his home. Snynder’s photographs stuck out to me, because he has a way that makes his photographs pull you in, like you are in the actual setting of his pictures. This made me feel connected to the photograph and makes you want to experience the beauty of the area he has photographed for yourself. This is my favorite aspect of Snynder’s photographs. He really possesses a great talent, which makes the pictures he takes seem alive. Kevin has so many great landscape photographs, and it was so hard to pick just one as my favorite. But one photo that I really enjoy is the “Cascade River.” I love how when I look at this picture, I feel like I can almost see and hear the water moving for myself without actually being there. This is a great talent that was bestowed upon Kevin that many artists lack. When I look at the “Cascade River” I feel as if I am actually present in the scene of the picture. This picture makes me wonder what is beyond the cascade. I am a curious person and the photograph makes me want to explore the area of the picture for myself, and this causes me to wonder what magnificent structures that I might see.

Kevin does a great job at capturing the world around him through the art of photography. You can tell that Kevin enjoys taking photographs and capturing the way of the world through his artwork. I believe that Kevin’s main purpose is to share the beauty that he sees and captures with anyone and everyone. Kevin photographs many different landscapes, from a little flower, to a humongous mountain, to a snowy field. Whatever Kevin photographs makes him feel connected to the Earth and nature. No matter what he photographs or where he photographs the photo, Kevin pulls out the beauty of the landscape through his photographing talent. Kevin stated that “Nature and being in nature makes me feel alive.” Kevin’s’ passion for photography shines through his artwork and you can tell by looking at his photographs that he has an obsession with capturing the beauty of the world. Kevin also stated that “For me, capturing these moments is a blessing and the ability to do these tasks is a gift.” Kevin receives a comforting feeling through his art, and loves the fact that he, himself was given such a great ability. Kevin says that his goal for his website is not only to provide stimulating visual art, but also to raise awareness of the treasures around us. Don’t overlook the small things in life. Kevin says that “We can help the land, water, and wildlife flourish for years to come.” I think that it is awesome that Kevin is using his talent to better the world so that others can also have a chance to see and maybe even capture the same beauty that he sees and feels for the Earth.
