It was so difficult to choose a favorite photographer from the list. There are so many great photographers. I really liked Duane lage's photographs. Duane started his photographic career at the age of 13. His favorite things to photograph were inanimate objects like stairs and railings. He attended Hennepin Technical Center and now works for Crofoot Photography.
I really liked his photographs of inanimate objects. Specifically the ones of old things like the old door, old doorknob and old trucks. He does also have beautiful photographs of landscapes and flowers. But, I found his photographs of inanimate objects very interesting and unique. I think most people wouldn't think of photographing things that have been abandoned for a long time. They might just see it as junk. Duane makes them look beautiful through his photographs. This might be why he describes his style as seeing the ordinary with extraordinary vision.
I liked that picture of the doornob. It's different and is of something very common but taken in a different view. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI was originally going to go with this photography until I saw you were using him first. I really enjoyed his pictures and think he does a great job capturing great landscape photos.
ReplyDeleteI also liked this artist. My favorites were a tie between the coat hanger on what looked like a cabin wall and the one titled big bay. I liked how his work has a rustic feel to it. Like the photos were taken in a different time era. And alot of them he fuzzed the edges. I don't know if that was a setting on his camera or part of his developing process. But I think it causes you to focus on the object rather than the background.
ReplyDeleteI too looked at his work and I agree that he does a nice job of photographing some very simple subjects that most would consider not very interesting to capture. Simply said and so true, "seeing the ordinary with extraordinary vision."
