Melissa Ann Pinneys work is very realistic. I really like how they are just everyday photographs and not actually staged. So it makes me wonder....are these staged photographs or are they just a snap shot that she is able to perfect? Her photos are all so simple and really capture the moment. They put the girls in natural settings and she is able to capture amazing photographs. Theses photographs really do not trigger any "landscape" ideas for me, I just seem to be seeing the girls in the picture and their simplicity.
I think the photograph of Melissa Ann Pinneys that caught my attention the most is in the Girl Ascending album and is of the 2 very young girls in the front yard with balls under their shirts. This photograph is adorable and reminds me of my now 4 year old. When I was pregnant with my 2 year old, I would stand and have my husband take side profiles of me. When I was close to being due, my daughter grabbed a ball and asked me to take a picture of her "baby belly"! That picture is very special to us and means alot!
I agree, most of her photos are really simple. That picture sounds like it would be cute!
ReplyDeleteI agree these photos capture the moment that she is in. She is good at capturing the moment in a natural setting letting the girls just be girls.
ReplyDeleteShe sure had a way to capture moments. My cousin Dan grabbed a balloon and put it under his shirt when I was 9 months pregnant. The funny thing was, we really looked alike. I would never tell him that.

ReplyDeleteI to really liked the photographs that she took I think that they are every well taken. Even though that are very simple pics. I think that she is very good at capturing a moment so that you can go back an remember it later.
