Melissa Ann Pinney

I like how average her photographs are. They aren't pictures that you would see in an expensive home there are medocracy. She captures all different types of lives from girls young to old. I like the girl ascending collection because I can personal relate to this. With seeing these pictures of the girls playin in the water reminds me of how I used to go to the lake with my family and friends and would play volleyball and just have fun. Also the picture with the young girls on a team just messing around is something that brings back memories to me. I think she captures very memorable times in a girls life growing up that would not seem like they are that important. But the way that she captures these moments show me that this is a part of who that person would be when they grow up. I also really enjoy the cellar door collection. It shows how a girl grows up. Also the seasons changing helps show how the girl grows and not everything is going to be the same from season to season. What I got out of this was that it is sort of looking at it in a parent's perspective. The reason for this is a parent watches their children grow up and see all of the changes and a lot of them say that time flies by fast and this is just another way to show that as well. I think Melissa Pinney is a good photographer on creating photographs that show how young girls grow into women.
